Starfury'd
Home again after a brilliant weekend at the Starfury Serenity Compete convention, a kick-ass Firefly event which turned by accident into a Battlestar Galactica con of most awesome proportions. Not only did the event fly with all but one of the the posted guests (Adam Baldwin, Nicky Cline, Mark Sheppard, W. Morgan Sheppard, and, uh me), the line-up also included Firefly's Ron Glass and Richard Brooks, plus Galactica's Leah Cairns, Kandyse McClure, Michelle Forbes and Jamie Bamber. It was rockin', and I got to hang with this bunch all weekend. Heh.

There were so many highlights, the days became a blur; chatting with Adam about his time on The Cape, talking Shakespeare with Morgan and politics with his son Mark;  and poring over the deeper meanings of Galactica with Leah, Kandyse, Nicky, Michelle and Jamie. And my weekend was absolutely made by Michelle Forbes (who taught me how to say 'fancy a shag?' in sign language), for describing me as "highly intelligent" in front of the whole event. Bless you, Mishka, the cheque's in the mail. 

Also; big shouts going out to all the Tech Crew and the LJers out there; fantom_denis, ksbpooks, burntcopper, andysears, miniosiris, my fellow panelist mingmerciless, and of course a huge round of applause for mrmrsmith, who proposed to ladydchaoson Saturday, and then five minutes later was thrown out of the bar by the manager some jobsworth.  And I'd like to say thanks to all the folks who came to my two panels even though they were early in the day and we were all tired and a bit hung over.
